Roadmap 2024–2025: the next phase
We're planning the next phase. More depth. More scale. Some things we're not ready to name. We're sharing direction, not commitments. As always, plans can change.
More depth. Richer regions, deeper persistence, systems that reward long-term participation. The world should feel like it has history—yours and everyone else's.
More scale. We're continuing to push on distributed simulation and concurrency. The goal is still one coherent world, not sharded copies. We're also investing in how people reach the world. The industry is moving toward web-native clients—GPU access from the browser, join from a link, no install. We're exploring that. Reduced friction means more people can show up. It also means we have to get security and integrity right for an environment we don't fully control. We're working on it.
Interfaces and the long run
We're watching extended reality—VR, AR, mixed—as an interface layer, not a separate product. Open standards are maturing; we want a world that can be reached from screens and eventually from headsets where embodiment matters. We're not announcing hardware. We're saying: the world is the product. How you reach it might expand. Some things we're not ready to name. Direction, not commitments. Plans can change.
