Founderia runs on a globally distributed infrastructure that has been built from the ground up for the kind of scale that persistent worlds demand. We scale horizontally; there is no single point of failure. Latency is optimized for major regions, and participants can typically connect to a node within their geographic preference—delivering an experience that feels local even when the world is global.
Persistence changes the scaling problem
Most multiplayer systems scale by sharding: divide the world, serve each piece independently, tolerate seams. That approach breaks when persistence, identity, and state must be continuous. Founderia's scaling model is designed for a world that never partitions from the participant's perspective—where moving between regions, access tiers, and sessions preserves context without visible handoff.
This requires infrastructure that can allocate, migrate, and retire capacity in real time without interrupting the coherence guarantees that participants depend on. It is not simple horizontal scaling; it is horizontal scaling under the constraint of continuity.
Mixed-cohort throughput
The platform supports concurrent participation across multiple access methods, latency profiles, and participant classes. Scaling fairly across mixed cohorts—where some participants are on browser, others in immersive, and others through full interface—requires throughput optimization that is participant-class-aware. No single class should degrade the experience of another; verified non-impact is a governance requirement, not an aspiration.
What we share and what we don't
We don't publish peak load or growth metrics publicly. We can say that our architecture has been stress-tested at levels that place us at the forefront of what's possible. Enterprise and research partners receive specific latency targets, failover SLAs, and capacity commitments under agreement. General participant traffic is optimized for availability, continuity, and a world-class experience without published numbers.
