Devlog #55: Scaling the team

2025-10-09 · From the vault

We're growing. Engineering, product, and the roles we don't have names for yet. If you've ever wanted to work on something that persists, we're hiring. Link in the post.

We're hiring for the next phase. Not just more engineers to ship features—people who want to work on infrastructure that lasts. Distributed systems. Identity and security. Safety and moderation at scale. The kind of work that turns a world into a platform that can support many kinds of participation. We're also hiring for roles we don't have clean names for yet: governance, trust, and the systems that will determine whether the world can hold not just players but citizens, creators, and eventually—if we get it right—participants who aren't only human. That's a long way off. We're building the team that gets us there.

Why now

The next decade of virtual worlds won't be defined by one breakthrough. It'll be defined by convergence: infrastructure, interfaces, and the kind of governance that makes a place credible. We need people who think in systems, who care about trust as much as throughput, and who want to work on something that persists. If that's you, we're hiring. Link in the post. More soon.
